Your questions, answered
Frequently asked questions about WHOIS and domain monitoring.
01What are WHOIS and RDAP?+
Both provide access to domain registration data. RDAP delivers structured JSON over HTTPS.
02What does a lookup show?+
Published registrar data, dates, nameservers and status codes. Missing fields are never guessed.
03Can I see the owner's contact information?+
Personal details are often redacted. Only information publicly released by the registration source can be shown.
04Does a domain become available on its expiry date?+
No. Renewal and redemption periods may follow. Expiry is not a confirmed release date.
05Can I register a domain with no record?+
Not necessarily. It may be reserved, premium or blocked. Check with a registrar before purchasing.
06How do notifications work?+
Verify your email and add a domain to your watchlist. Emails are sent when your threshold is reached or registration changes.
07What is the DNS IP country?+
An approximate network location, not the owner's country. A CDN or proxy may change this location.
08Who can access lookup logs?+
Members can view domain history. Visitor IP and country records are visible only to authorized administrators.
